My name is Stephany Durtsche, and I teach 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies here at Lovell Middle School. I was born in Powell, WY so I have always considered this side of the mountain my second home. Shortly after my birth my family moved to Gillette, WY where I would attend Pronghorn Elementary and Sage Valley Jr. High School. After my 7th Grade year, my family moved to Sheridan, WY where I would graduate from high school. After high school I had the opportunity to play both basketball and soccer at Sheridan College, after two years I transferred to the University of Wyoming where I would get my Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Secondary Education. I met my husband in Laramie while attending UW and we were able to graduate hand and hand earning the same exact degree! 

 

Born and raised in Wyoming I grew up loving the outdoors- especially the Big Horn Mountains. My family would go camping, four-wheeling, dirt biking, boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking almost every weekend that we did not have any sports events to play in. Growing up I loved playing sports and being apart of a team! Other hobbies of mine are cooking, reading, watching movies, traveling, and just spending time with my family. 

 

After college my husband and I both took teaching jobs in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I taught 7th Grade Social Studies at Bicentennial North for 2 years before moving to Lovell in 2019 to take my current job and be closer to family. I love being back to my Wyoming roots and our amazing community here in Lovell!
